The Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, celebrated Iraq’s Victory Day on Thursday, December 12, 2024. This occasion marks the anniversary of the triumph over the ISIS terrorist organization. The event was distinguished and attended by the faculty and students of the department, reflecting national pride and honoring the achievements of the Iraqi forces.
Professor Dr. Firas Mohammed Tu’ma, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of this historic day. He praised the sacrifices and heroism of the brave Iraqi security forces in defending the country and its land, as well as the critical role of engineers and scientific professionals in rebuilding Iraq and establishing the foundations of development after the victory.
This celebration aimed to foster a sense of patriotism among students and to reaffirm the essential role of all societal sectors, including engineers, in shaping and rebuilding Iraq’s future.
