Participation of Students from the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad in a Workshop at the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce Titled “Strategies for Developing Renewable Energy and a Sustainable Future”
As part of the scientific activities of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, the Entrepreneurship Department organized a workshop titled “Strategies for Developing Renewable Energy and a Sustainable Future,” presented by Assistant Prof. Dr. Sundus Samir Al-Azzawi, a faculty member at the University of Technology – College of Electromechanical Engineering. The event took place on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce, attended by a number of students from the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Baghdad.
The workshop covered the following topics: the energy crisis in Iraq, as well as the positive aspects of solar energy. It addressed the solar energy industry, job statistics, and some simple and quickly implementable applications of solar energy at reasonable costs, along with medium-capacity solar energy applications and strategic solar energy applications for large projects.
The goal of the workshop was to discuss the latest technologies in the field of renewable energy. It also showcased best practices for implementing clean energy projects, addressing challenges, and providing solutions for the transition towards sustainability. Finally, the seminar concluded with a set of recommendations, including exchanging insights and experiences to enhance the adoption of clean energy sources in our region.
