Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a scientific workshop on Sunday, April 19, 2026, in cooperation with the Qualification and Employment Unit and the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Engineering. The workshop, titled “Preparation and Readiness of Conference Papers,” was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Ibrahim Hassan in Dr. Ihsan Yahya Hall at the department.

The workshop targeted faculty members, postgraduate students, and individuals interested in developing skills related to scientific research preparation and the mechanisms for aligning research with the requirements of reputable scientific conferences.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ skills in preparing research papers for conferences and to strengthen their ability to structure and write according to recognized academic standards, ensuring readiness for publication in scientific forums.

It addressed key requirements for research preparation, methods of organizing and formatting papers in accordance with conference and journal templates, as well as clarifying academic and ethical standards for publication and highlighting common mistakes that may affect acceptance.

Additionally, the workshop covered the fundamentals of building a scientific paper systematically, how to comply with conference requirements, and emphasized the importance of proper citation, up-to-date references, and the use of precise scientific language that reflects the rigor of the content.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturer recommended strict adherence to each conference’s publication requirements, thorough linguistic and scientific review before submission, continued participation in research workshops, and promoting collaborative research between faculty members and postgraduate students.

This workshop is part of the College of Engineering’s ongoing efforts to support scientific and academic activities and to enhance researchers’ skills, contributing to improving the quality of scientific output and representing the college with distinction in academic forums.
