As part of its academic strategic plan for the current academic year, the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Baghdad held the initial discussion sessions for fourth-stage (senior) graduation projects on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The sessions took place in a dynamic academic environment aimed at evaluating student outputs and refining their research trajectories.
To ensure rigorous evaluation and provide the necessary academic support, the Department Headship formed nine specialized committees. Each committee comprised three faculty members from the department’s teaching staff. These committees were tasked with reviewing and discussing 55 engineering projects covering a wide array of modern themes in electrical engineering.
The sessions sought to achieve several core objectives, most notably:
- Progress Assessment: Evaluating the completion rate of both the theoretical frameworks and practical implementations of the projects.
- Academic Guidance: Providing constructive critical feedback to help students overcome technical obstacles prior to the final defense.
- Skill Enhancement: Training students in presentation techniques, public speaking, and the ability to defend their engineering concepts.
The committees commended the high scientific standards demonstrated by the students and the dedicated efforts of both researchers and supervisors. Faculty members noted that many of the projects featured innovative ideas with significant potential for practical application in both the public and private sectors.
