The Department of Energy Engineering at the University of Baghdad / College of Engineering organized a specialized scientific symposium on Sunday, December 7, 2025, titled “Utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Education and Investing in the Field of Renewable Energy.”

The symposium highlighted the pivotal role that artificial intelligence (AI) can play in creating a qualitative leap in these two vital sectors. Assistant Lecturer (Asst. Lec.) Enas Abd Zaid delivered a keynote speech, presenting a comprehensive overview on analyzing the role of AI in developing the educational system and enhancing research and innovation capabilities.

The symposium focused on achieving two main objectives:

  • In the field of Education: Analyzing AI’s role in developing the educational system and enhancing research and innovation capabilities among students and teaching staff.
  • In the field of Energy: Exploring the potential of deploying AI to improve the efficiency and sustainability of renewable energy projects, such as solar and wind power.

The symposium concluded with a set of important recommendations aimed at activating these visions on the ground:

  • Integrating AI into Curricula: To support adaptive learning and develop analytical and innovative skills among students.
  • Training Educational Staff: On AI tools to ensure effective and safe deployment within the educational environment.
  • Encouraging Partnerships: Between universities and the energy sector to enhance applied research in AI and renewable energy.
  • Adopting AI Systems: To improve energy management, production forecasting, and raise the efficiency of renewable stations.
  • Establishing Clear Policies: For the use of AI that ensure privacy, data security, and academic quality
