In its pursuit to elevate the quality of scientific publishing and improve the performance of its editorial board, the Journal of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held a dedicated working session on Thursday, November 25, 2025, to review publishing mechanisms and strengthen the requirements for inclusion in Scopus indexing.
The session was chaired by the Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Nadia Adnan Shaltagh, with the attendance of editorial board members, during which plans and strategies to enhance the quality of published research and elevate the journal’s standing in international indexing databases were discussed.
The session included a workshop presented by the Managing Editor, Assist. Prof. Dr. Basma Ismail Hussein, in which she outlined the roles and responsibilities of editorial board members, emphasizing the importance of organizing work and standardizing procedures to ensure smooth coordination among the editorial team and improve performance efficiency.
The session also featured the presentation of several proposals aimed at developing the journal and raising its scientific and technical standards, contributing to meeting the requirements for Scopus indexing.
The session concluded with an emphasis on the need to continue collaboration and exert further efforts to enhance the journal’s status and achieve its vision of inclusion in global indexing databases.
