On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Committee for Academic Journal Accreditation of the College of Engineering – University of Baghdad organized a workshop on digital transformation and the mechanism for submitting accreditation requests for scientific research electronically instead of through the traditional paper-based system.
The workshop was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ziyad Tarek Abdul Ali, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, with the participation of accreditation committee members from the college’s departments. Discussions focused on the procedures for academic researchers to submit requests for publishing accredited scientific research in the College of Engineering’s scientific journal through the electronic system, developed by the college’s IT Division in accordance with the journal accreditation standards.
The workshop also introduced the electronic publishing system and the publication requirements researchers must adhere to, while highlighting the committee’s role in supporting researchers and facilitating the electronic publishing process to ensure the enhancement of academic journals’ scientific credibility.
Prof. Dr. Ziyad Tarek concluded the workshop by emphasizing the importance of adhering to scientific and academic standards for publishing in electronic journals, stressing the need for teamwork in addressing challenges, and commending the committee members’ efforts in enhancing the quality of published scientific research.
