As part of its scientific activities aimed at strengthening students’ practical skills, the Department of Water Resources Engineering at the College of Engineering – University of Baghdad organized two scientific visits for second-year students on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The visits were to the Reconstruction and Projects Department at the University Presidency and to the sites of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence, accompanied by a number of faculty and staff from the department.

The first visit aimed to familiarize students with the tasks of the Reconstruction and Projects Department and the mechanisms of implementing engineering projects within the university campus. It also allowed them to review the technical designs and blueprints of new buildings, providing an opportunity to connect the theoretical concepts they study with real-world engineering applications.

The second visit focused on introducing students to the construction stages of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence buildings, as well as the architectural and structural design principles applied. Additionally, students observed various devices and equipment related to their field of study, such as pumping systems and technical tools used in the water resources sector.

These visits are part of a series of scientific activities adopted by the department to support students and prepare them to understand the real-world engineering environment, thereby enhancing their skills and readiness to meet labor market demands after graduation.
