Under the guidance of the Prime Minister and sponsored by the Deanery of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, the Department of Architecture organized a celebration on December 12, 2024, to commemorate the anniversary of Iraq’s victory over ISIS on December 10.
The event was attended by the esteemed Head of the Department of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Saad Fawzi Tuma, alongside faculty members and students. It featured a commemoration of the heroic acts of the Iraqi security forces and the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives to protect the nation.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs’ souls, followed by the playing of the Iraqi national anthem, with a large gathering of students and faculty in attendance.
This celebration highlights the significant role of Iraqi universities in fostering patriotism and a sense of belonging. It also pays tribute to the collective memory that symbolizes the unity and solidarity of the Iraqi people in overcoming terrorism and achieving this historic victory.
