Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Aqeel Abdul Aziz Mohammed, Head of the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, the department organized a workshop entitled “RSMA Technology in 6G Networks” on Sunday, 25 October 2026. The workshop was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Muayyad Khalil Murtadha at the Networks and Electronics Laboratory, with the attendance of several faculty members and staff.

The workshop addressed Rate-Splitting Multiple Access (RSMA), a promising technology for sixth-generation (6G) networks. It highlighted the technology’s role in managing inter-user interference, improving spectral efficiency, and supporting high data transmission rates and reliable communications. These capabilities are achieved by dividing data streams into common and private streams, thereby enhancing the efficiency of wireless resource utilization in high-density environments.

The workshop concluded with scientific discussions and an exchange of views on the prospects of incorporating this technology into academic research, particularly postgraduate student projects, helping keep pace with the latest developments in wireless communications.
