The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held a ceremony on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to honor Ms. Sawsan Khalif Mahmoud, a staff member of the Registration Division, on the occasion of her retirement, in recognition of her many years of dedicated service and commitment to the College and the University.

The honoring ceremony was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed; the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ziad Tariq Abdul-Ali; the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Wamid Nizar; as well as several faculty members, staff members, and the retiree’s colleagues.

The Dean praised Ms. Sawsan’s efforts and dedication in carrying out her professional responsibilities, commending her contributions throughout her years of service and wishing her continued health and success in the next chapter of her life. In turn, Ms. Sawsan expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the College’s administration and staff for this thoughtful gesture, affirming her pride in the years she had spent serving the College of Engineering.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield to the honoree in recognition of her efforts and as a token of appreciation for her professional career.
