Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Osama Abdul Muneam Al-Tamimi, Head of the Department of Architecture, the department organized a welcoming event for first-year students at the start of the new academic year. The event was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ilham Ali Bayawi, Head of the Psychological and Educational Guidance Committee in the department and Director of the Women’s Affairs Unit in the college, with the presence of first-year instructors.
The event included welcoming speeches and an introductory presentation about the department, outlining the nature of study and its academic pathways, followed by an orientation tour inside the department’s facilities.
The event also featured an exhibition showcasing samples of students’ work and activities from previous years, attended by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, with the aim of strengthening new students’ sense of belonging and providing a clear vision of the educational environment and architectural projects offered by the department.
This activity reflects the Department of Architecture’s commitment to supporting new students and preparing them to begin their academic journey in a positive and engaging educational atmosphere.
