As part of its efforts to strengthen academic belonging and build communication bridges between students and faculty members, the Department of Surveying Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a welcoming ceremony for first-year students for the 2025–2026 academic year on Thursday, November 26, 2025.
The event was held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, and supervised by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Alaa Dawood Salman, with the presence of faculty members and newly admitted students.
The ceremony began with welcoming speeches delivered by the Head of the Department and several faculty members, followed by an introductory lecture on the academic curricula and the mechanisms of the Bologna Process, presented by lecturers Prof. Youssef Hussein Khalaf and Dr. Naeem Jabbar.
The event concluded with an emphasis on the importance of commitment to the department’s academic journey and the encouragement to further develop engineering skills.
