Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, Dean of the College of Engineering, and under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Samira Mohammed Hamdallah, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, the department organized a charity bazaar on Tuesday, December 17, 2025. The event was held in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit and the Student Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at the University of Baghdad, with active participation from the department’s students and faculty members.

The event aimed to promote humanitarian values and social solidarity among students by providing support to underprivileged families. This was achieved through a variety of displays, including handmade products, artistic designs, and creative crafts prepared and presented by students, reflecting a strong spirit of giving and community belonging.

The event was inaugurated by the Dean of the College in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Faleh Hassan Mohammed, who praised in his speech the significant role of student initiatives in strengthening humanitarian awareness and social responsibility. He emphasized the college’s commitment to supporting humanitarian values and encouraging meaningful student activities.

The organization of this charity bazaar comes within the framework of promoting a culture of volunteer work and social responsibility, as well as supporting humanitarian initiatives that enhance students’ awareness and engagement with societal issues.
