The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad hosted the Al-Khilani Cultural and Social Foundation on Thursday, 15 October 2026, as part of the “A More Beautiful Year with Our Hearts” initiative, organized by the Department of Computer Engineering in cooperation with the College’s Human Rights Unit and Student Activities Unit.
The initiative included an interactive workshop on human rights delivered by Dr. Israa Abd Ali Kazim, Head of the Human Rights Unit. It also featured the distribution of school bags and an educational tour for children around the College and University premises. The children participated in a variety of sports, artistic, cultural, and recreational activities, including football, drawing, pottery, calligraphy, bracelet-making, a fingerprint tree activity, and interactive competitions.
A number of second-year students from the Department of Computer Engineering contributed to implementing the initiative. The activities aimed to bring joy to the children, develop their creative abilities, strengthen their self-confidence, and foster cooperation and participation. They also sought to raise awareness of children’s rights and promote the values of equality, solidarity, and humanitarian support.
This initiative reflects the College of Engineering’s commitment to engaging with community institutions and supporting humanitarian activities that contribute to strengthening human rights awareness and fostering a sense of social responsibility among students.
