The Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized an awareness seminar titled “Electoral Procedures” on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majeed, Dean of the College. The event was attended by several department heads, faculty members, staff, and students.
The seminar was presented by Mr. Karrar Jalal Karim, representative of the Independent High Electoral Commission, and aimed to enhance electoral awareness among academics and students by introducing the legal and organizational procedures related to the electoral process.
The presentation provided a detailed explanation of the parliamentary election process, scheduled to take place on November 11, 2025, including the mechanisms of general and special voting, the procedures for voter card distribution, as well as the methods of vote counting, result transmission, and data transfer on election day.
Mr. Karim also highlighted the regulations governing election monitoring by political entity agents, civil society organizations, and international observers, emphasizing the high level of transparency adopted by the Commission in providing information and enabling media outlets and stakeholders to follow the course of the electoral process closely.
