Fourth-year students from the Petroleum Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, achieved a remarkable scientific accomplishment by winning first place in the General Knowledge category of the GeoChallenge World Championship, held on September 7, 2025, in the Russian Federation, with the participation of 38 teams from various countries around the globe.
The team was supervised by Dr. Osama Al-Omidi, whose outstanding guidance enabled them to outperform competing international universities.
This achievement reflects the high competence of Baghdad Engineering students and their determination to showcase their scientific presence in international forums. Their continued excellence in the remaining events of the championship is highly anticipated, further strengthening Iraq’s name and solidifying its position among leading countries in academia and research.
