On Monday, September 15, 2025, the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad commemorated the International Day of Democracy through an event organized by the college’s Human Rights Unit, in line with the university’s mission of serving society and raising awareness of human rights.
During the event, the college affirmed that democracy is not limited to the electoral process alone but also encompasses the principles of justice, equality, and the protection of human dignity. It stressed that education is a fundamental pillar in strengthening human values and fostering a culture of citizenship.
This activity comes as part of a series of awareness programs implemented by the college, aimed at contributing to the building of a stable society based on participation and shared responsibility. It also reflects the University of Baghdad’s commitment to promoting a culture of democracy and human rights.
