Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering and the supervision of the Head of the Aeronautical Engineering Department, Dr. Anmar Hameed Ali, the Aeronautical Engineering Department at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific visit to Karbala International Airport on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, for fourth-year students, with the participation of several professors from the department. The aim of the scientific visit is to broaden the students’ horizons and deepen their knowledge in the field of aeronautical engineering through a field trip to Karbala International Airport, where they will learn about the latest technologies and equipment used in the construction, management, and operation of airports. The tour included a meeting with the current administrative structure responsible for completing the civil works inside the airport, which encompassed the main passenger halls, VIP lounges, runways, control tower, and other facilities within the airport. The responsible body convened and delivered an explanatory lecture on the airport’s capacity and its key facilities at the beginning of the delegation’s reception. This trip represents a valuable opportunity for students to closely acquaint themselves with aeronautical operations and the daily operational requirements of airports, contributing to enhancing their practical skills and understanding of real work in the aeronautical field.
