Asst. Prof. Dr. Dhirgham Alobaydi, from the Department of Architecture, participated in the PhD defense of Saba Mujtaba Abdulwahid on November 13, 2024, at the University of Technology, Baghdad. The dissertation, titled “Urban Competitiveness,” focused on the role of urban intelligence in enhancing economic, social, and service levels within smart residential neighborhoods.
The research provided a theoretical framework for balanced competitive performance, analyzing four neighborhoods in Basra Province through quantitative methods and statistical analysis. Key findings highlighted urban intelligence as a crucial factor in improving quality of life, attracting investments, and boosting neighborhood competitiveness.
