The Human Rights Unit at the College of Engineering organized an awareness workshop entitled “Community Education on the Risks of Digital Drugs and Enhancing Digital Awareness Among Youth.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Mohammed Khalil Ahmed, Liaison Officer of the Human Rights Unit, as part of its activities aimed at protecting young people and promoting a culture of safe and responsible use of technology.
The workshop introduced the concept of digital drugs, reviewed their most prominent health, psychological, and academic risks, and highlighted their negative effects on students’ concentration and academic performance. The lecturer also emphasized the importance of enhancing digital awareness and fostering responsible behavior in dealing with modern technologies, pointing out the pivotal role that engineering students can play in confronting such phenomena by leveraging technical knowledge and actively participating in community awareness efforts.
This workshop is part of a series of activities implemented by the College to promote a culture of human rights and protect youth from the growing digital risks, contributing to the creation of a conscious and safe university environment.
