The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held its sixth session for the academic year 2025–2026 on Wednesday morning, chaired by Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majeed, Dean of the College, and attended by the Assistant Deans and Heads of the scientific departments.

The Dean opened the session by welcoming the Council members, stressing the importance of continuing to work in a spirit of teamwork to ensure the advancement of the educational process and the achievement of academic and administrative quality requirements.

During the session, the Council discussed several files related to scientific affairs, including the promotion of a number of faculty members, in addition to reviewing requests for sabbatical leave to deliver lectures at private universities.

The session also addressed postgraduate studies affairs, where a number of joint-supervision research projects were approved, cases of termination of academic affiliation were reviewed, and requests for postponement of study (exceptional and second-round) were discussed.

In the area of student affairs, the Council discussed directives related to first-round examinations, along with reviewing certain special student cases, ensuring academic fairness and the integrity of procedures.

Regarding administrative affairs, the extension of service for a number of faculty members was discussed, in addition to several administrative matters related to the College’s departments.

The session concluded with listening to the remarks and proposals of the Heads of the scientific departments, with emphasis on taking the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of academic and administrative work with high efficiency.
