On the occasion of World Arabic Language Day (the Language of Ḍād), observed on December 18, 2025, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Arabic Language Committee, organized a scientific workshop entitled:
“The Arabic Language and University Identity: Authenticity of Thought and Unity of Belonging,” with the attendance and participation of the college’s students.
The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lect. Ali Fawzi Rashid, Rapporteur of the Arabic Language Committee, who addressed the pivotal role of the Arabic language in strengthening university identity and consolidating the authenticity of thought and unity of academic belonging. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the use of sound and eloquent Arabic in teaching and scientific research, considering it a fundamental pillar in building students’ scientific and cultural character.
The workshop concluded by reaffirming support for cultural and intellectual initiatives and activities that promote the Arabic language and enhance its presence within the university environment, contributing to the reinforcement of scientific and human values among students, in line with the college’s academic and societal mission.
