A group of faculty members and fourth-year students in the Department of Electrical Engineering / College of Engineering / University of Baghdad participated in a field visit to the Iraqi National Museum on Wednesday 29th March 2023. The aim of this visit was to introduce the cultural heritage of Iraq and to spread cultural, touristic and historical awareness among the students of the Electrical Engineering Department.
The museum was established in the Qishla area in the centre of Baghdad in 1926, and moved in 1966 to the Al-Alawi area after expanding it and increasing its contents that reflect the history of Mesopotamia. The Iraqi Museum is one of the largest museums in Iraq and it includes eighteen halls that include the various historical eras of the Assyrians, Sumerians and Babylonians, in addition to the Islamic era, which includes a group of different Islamic arts.
