As part of enhancing the practical and applied aspects of students’ education, the Department of Energy Engineering organized a scientific visit to the Al-Nahrain Center for Renewable Energy, with the participation of a group of first-year students, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Tarek Jassim. The group was received by the Director of the Center, Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Thamer Saloom, along with several faculty members from the center.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the latest technologies used in the field of renewable energy and to familiarize them with research projects and practical applications of solar, wind, and clean energy. It also sought to reinforce the theoretical knowledge that students acquire in classrooms through field application.
The center’s officials warmly welcomed the university delegation and provided a detailed explanation of the operational mechanisms of the experimental stations and analysis devices. They also presented several national projects implemented by the center in cooperation with governmental and international organizations.
For their part, the students expressed their happiness with this visit, which contributed to broadening their horizons and directly connecting them to the labor market and the reality of the energy sector in Iraq. The supervisors emphasized the importance of continuing such visits, which keep pace with technological developments and support the quality of engineering education.
