As part of the academic collaboration between architecture departments in public and private universities, the Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad organized a joint workshop in cooperation with the Department of Architecture at Al Esraa University College. The workshop was supervised by Dr. Ammar Saleh Ashour, along with faculty members of the Architectural Design course (Section B) from the University of Baghdad and faculty members of the Design course from Al-Esraa University. The event included participation from second- and third-year students from both institutions.
The workshop began with a welcome session for the guests from Al-Esraa University College, followed by a scientific lecture presented by Dr. Ammar Saleh Ashour. The lecture covered advanced architectural topics aimed at enriching students’ knowledge, enhancing their design skills, and opening up new avenues for creative thinking and innovation. After the lecture, the students were divided into mixed groups from both departments and participated in a competition to design an architectural model inspired by the themes of the lecture.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the winning teams were honored in recognition of their creativity and architectural design skills, reinforcing student engagement and supporting the development of their artistic abilities. This activity is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening academic cooperation and building bridges between universities, contributing to the educational process and enhancing students’ architectural expertise.
