The Department of Water Resources Engineering, represented by Professor Dr. Mahmoud Saleh Al-Khafaji, participated in the first international conference on artificial intelligence, which was held in Erbil under the auspices of the advisor to the Prime Minister for scientific and academic affairs and artificial intelligence, professor Dia al-Jumaili, a specialist in the field of artificial intelligence and recipient of the British queen’s medal for his services in the field of Science and technology, and charity.

The conference featured comprehensive topics in three languages, covering the basics and diverse applications of artificial intelligence in various fields, such as healthcare and surgery to enhance diagnosis and treatment, in addition to its role in educational technology, cybersecurity and creative industries.

The program included important sessions on the ethics of artificial intelligence and its impact on Human Resources, Environmental Conservation Technology and nanotechnological explorations. The program also addressed the social impacts and expectations in the fields of Agriculture and design to ensure providing a comprehensive vision on the uses of artificial intelligence and its leading role in the field of development in various industrial sectors, health technology, agriculture and finance.

In its sessions, the conference addressed the future vision of the fields of artificial intelligence applications. In addition to scientific educational lectures related to artificial intelligence delivered by more than fifteen experts and specialists from multiple countries in the field of artificial intelligence.
