Through the cooperation between the Center for the Revival of Arab Scientific Heritage and the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad, a meeting was held on Sunday, 2/25/2024, in the same center about remanufacturing some mechanical machines. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Alaa Nafi Jassim, and some of its members, and from the College of Engineering, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Dheyaa Jasim Kadhim, and former Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Fathi Abdel-Saheb Al-Shammaa and some faculty members, and from the Department of Architectural Engineering, Asst.Prof.Dr. Shatha Abbas Hassan and the Department of Mechanical Engineering student, Musa Zain Al-Abidin. During the meeting, some suggestions previously put forward by the center to choose the most important mechanical machines were discussed. This fruitful meeting resulted in the selection of the sundial as the first heritage machine that will be implemented on the ground at the University of Baghdad according to scientific heritage data.
