The Department of Aeronautical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Baghdad, organized a splendid reception ceremony for first-year students. The event witnessed the gathering of several new students, faculty members, and staff in the department, held in the meeting hall on 5th December 2023. The ceremony included a speech by the department chairman, Dr. Anmar Hameed Ali, who welcomed the new students and congratulated them on their admission. Dr. Anmar Hameed Ali delivered a motivational speech, urging the students to work hard and excel in their studies, emphasizing the importance of the field of aeronautical engineering and its continuous advancements.
Following the department chairman’s speech, a presentation about the Aeronautical Engineering department was displayed, introducing the new students to the study curriculum and the expected years of study. The nature of the program and the skills they would acquire during their education in the department were highlighted. Additionally, an introductory presentation was given about the implementation of the Bologna Process, which aims to enhance the quality of higher education and promote collaboration and academic exchange among universities. The presentation explained the significance of implementing this process at the University of Baghdad and its benefits for students in enhancing their academic and professional opportunities.
At the end of the ceremony, a simple reception was provided for the students, providing an opportunity for communication and interaction between the students, faculty members, and staff in the department.
