Dr. Abd_Alhussain_Al_Askari, Assistant Professor, participated in judging the “Basra_Rises_Anew” competition and took part in the panel discussion on “Modernity_and_Contemporary_Trends_in_Architecture” during the opening of the Jerso Expo for Investment and Reconstruction in Basra. This collaboration included professors from universities in Wasit, Al-Technology, and Basra, along with various construction and reconstruction companies. The aim is to support the growing sector and establish effective partnerships by consulting, seeking expertise, and collaborating with both local and foreign experiences. The dialogue session addressed the dialectics between heritage and modernity in Iraqi architecture, spanning from early pioneers to contemporary generations, exploring reasons for recent stagnation in architectural output.
