Under the supervision of the Head of the Environmental Engineering Department, Professor DrAyad Abdelhamza Faisal, the Environmental Engineering Department held on Tuesday 05-30-2023 a workshop entitled:
“A workshop on the planning and implementation requirements of the Bologna track in Iraqi universities“
Prof. Dr. Zainab Ziyad Ismail prepared the workshop to explain what the Bologna track is and why and how it will be applied in Iraqi universities. The workshop included the following main themes:
1- Clarification of the Bologna process or path and the objectives that are hoped to be achieved when applying this path in Iraqi universities, and the consequences of its implementation in achieving development of the educational process and its outputs, and linking those outputs to the labor market, which supports in the future setting the right plans in preparing students’ admission and distribution in Iraqi universities and institutes.
2– Consolidating the reputation of universities and the Iraqi educational system internationally and through the feature of international cooperation and the transfer of students between universities and countries that adopt the Bologna track.
3- How the Bologna Process contributes to improve educational transparency and quality of education and focusing on evaluating the hours and activities of the irregular or unscheduled educational load for students.
4- Clarifying the process of calculating units and hours for each subject for the four academic levels and how to fill out the course description forms for each faculty member.
The faculty members of the Environmental Engineering Department interacted with the axes of the workshop and understood the nature of the Bologna course, and expressed their willingness to accomplish what was required of them in the current and subsequent phase, especially with regard to the description of the courses.
