The strategic plan is the important planning framework through which the future goals of any institution o organization, including universities, are pursued. The strategic plan reflects the vision of that university or institution and identifies the main and correct directions that must be followed to achieve this vision. Through this perspective, an expanded meeting was held on Tuesday, 16/5/2023, for the strategic planning committee in the Department of Chemical Engineering, headed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Faiq Al-Alawy, Head of the Department, and in the presence of the members of the team preparing the strategic plan, namely: Prof. Dr. Basma Abbas Abdulmajeed, Prof. Dr. Ammar Salih Abbas, Assist.Prof. Dr. Raghad Fareed Qasim, Assist.Prof. Dr. Mahmood Khazzal Hummadi, and Assist.Prof. Dr. Rana Thabet Abed. During the meeting, the elements of the intellectual and methodological framework of the plan were discussed, and the strengths that must be developed were identified. The weakness that appropriate solutions must be found to fix it, in addition to exploiting the opportunities that are in the interest of the correct construction of the pillars of the plan. Finally, in light of the completion of the main elements of the strategic plan of the Chemical Engineering Department, the members of the Committee stressed not to lose sight of the threats and emerging changes that may hinder the implementation of the plan or some of its parts.
