Professor Dr. Amjad Al-Bayati, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering – University of Baghdad, participated in the 105th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), which was held in Washington, D.C., United States, from 11 to 15 January 2026.
The participation included the presentation of a scientific research paper entitled:
“Treatment of Recycled Concrete Aggregate with Sugarcane Molasses to Produce Durable Asphalt Mixtures.”
The study highlights the development of sustainable asphalt mixtures through the treatment of recycled concrete aggregate using bio-based materials, contributing to enhanced durability of asphalt mixtures and supporting environmental sustainability in road and transportation projects.
The conference also provided an opportunity for scientific networking and the exchange of expertise with a distinguished group of researchers and academics from around the world, including Professor Hussain Bahia, Professor Imad Al-Qadi, and Dr. Mayank, in addition to a number of professors and researchers specialized in the field of road and transportation engineering.
This participation reflects the College of Engineering’s commitment at the University of Baghdad to supporting scientific and research activities and strengthening its academic presence in international forums and conferences.
