As part of the extra-curricular events and activities held by the Department of Water Resources Engineering and with Care of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, The Baghdad Elections Office / Al-Rusafa organized an educational awareness workshop on the importance of biometric registration and participation in elections. This workshop was attended by the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Basim Sh. Abed and a number of the faculty and associates of the department, in addition to the presence of the first class students. This educational symposium was implemented in the hall of Prof. Dr. Mahdi Hantoush on Tuesday 11-4-2023.
During this symposium, the Representatives of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission have presented the importance of biometric registration and receipt of biometric cards, the mechanisms of the Commission’s work and its efforts to raise the registration rate and distribute completed cards to those who are eligible, as well as the plans developed by it, were discussed. The delegation was accompanied by a mobile center team (Karrada Registration 3/3065)
At the end of the symposium, discussion was opened for the participants, faculty and students, and they were answered by the Representatives of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission.
A practical exercise was conducted in selecting the ideal / perfect student after a number of students nominated themselves for this title. The ideal student received award as a winning student.
