Assistant Professor Dr. Zuhair Kadhim JahanGer, from the Department of Water Resources Engineering at the University of Baghdad, has been appointed to a ministerial committee by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Research and Development Department. The committee’s mandate is to design a master’s degree program in geotechnical engineering within the Civil Engineering Department at Al-Nahrain University in Baghdad. Dr. Zuhair’s selection reflects his exceptional expertise and extensive experience in civil geotechnical engineering, supported by his PhD from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
The committee, consisting of faculty members from various Iraqi universities renowned for their scientific proficiency, conducted a visit to the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University on 21/12/2023. The purpose of the visit was to assess the academic and logistical resources, as well as to ensure the fulfillment of necessary conditions for the proposed master’s program. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to elevate the standards of higher education in geotechnical engineering, providing a valuable opportunity for doctoral students specializing in this field to advance their studies and refine their skills.”
