The Computer Engineering Department organized a scientific symposium, led by Dr. Anas Wasel Atta, on Sunday, 3/3/2024, at the department’s discussion hall. The symposium, titled ‘Watermarking Defense of Cyber-Physical Systems,’ delved into the prevalent deployment of cyber-physical systems across crucial sectors such as energy, water, healthcare, and transportation to meet global demands.
The primary focus of the symposium was to shed light on the potential threats faced by these vital systems, which are susceptible to cyber-attacks. The discussion emphasized the importance of securing these networked cyber-physical systems due to their role in delivering basic infrastructure needs and essential services. The safety of these systems is paramount, as any disruption or compromise could result in significant economic losses, injuries, or loss of life.
The event was graced by the presence of the department head, Dr. (A.D. Firas Ali Saber), and was attended by several faculty members. The symposium facilitated a comprehensive exploration of the presented topics, paving the way for the formulation of a strategic approach that aligns with the ongoing scientific developments, in line with the aspirations of the College of Engineering.”
