Department of Petroleum Engineering and in cooperation with Schlumberger, an international oil company, organized an internship interview with twenty of the top- ranked students of the fourth year for two days on Sunday and Monday 10-11 April 2022 in the presence of the Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Dr. Ghanem M Farman. Schlumberger was represented by Eng. Mazin Al-Attar, Iraq Digital Sales and Commercial Manager, and Eng. Mustafa Mahmoud, Iraq Recruiter. The meeting began with a lecture delivered by company representatives, in which they presented an introductory overview of Schlumberger, which is one of the international multinational oil companies and is the world’s first distributor of oil technology in the field of reservoir simulation, drilling, production and other operations related to oil and gas, as well as the first in the world in terms of programs of the industry oil. They also explained how the company’s policy depends on the employment of local workers, and they also discussed the company’s training internship and employment. Then the job interview began with the top twenty students in order to choose a group of them to work for the company after graduation, depending on the student’s competence in terms of the English language skills and capabilities to answer questions. Mrs. Orouba Abdel Qahar Abdel Salam from the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Engineering attended the meeting representing the Dean of the College of Engineering.
