In coordination with the Iraqi Drilling Company/ the Ministry of Oil, Department of Petroleum Engineering organized a field trip for the fourth- year students in the department and they were accompanied by the Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Dr. Ghanem Madih Farman and Mr. Zaid Qassem Jaafar, an engineer at the department on Thursday 31/3/2022 . The trip was to one of the company’s work sites in the East Baghdad oil field. When they arrived, they were welcomed by the officials and a number of engineers and technicians at this site. During this visit, the students were briefed on the equipment used for drilling oil wells, and the engineers specialized in this equipment gave a simplified explanation of the work, management and uses of equipment used in drilling and completion. At the end of the visit, the Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Dr. Ghanem Madih Farman conveyed thanks and gratitude of the Dean of the College f Engineering, Prof. Dr. Saba Jabbar Nehmeh, to the Iraqi Drilling Company officials for their cooperation and efforts with the students and teachers of the college. Finally, special thanks and appreciation are to everyone who contributed in the success of this very useful field trip aiming for further cooperation between the College of Engineering and the Ministry of Oil.
