Construction Materials Laboratory

The Construction Materials Laboratory aims to be a fundamental contributor to the preparation of highly competent specialized personnel in the field of civil engineering and related engineering disciplines to meet the requirements of the university and society. This is achieved by supporting the preparation of numerous projects and research for faculty members and graduate students. In addition to its teaching and research functions, the laboratory staff trains students on how to use devices and conduct tests related to construction materials. Furthermore, the laboratory’s teaching staff offers numerous engineering consultations to various government ministries, in addition to organizing seminars and training courses for personnel in those ministries in various engineering fields related to construction materials testing, as well as providing engineering advice and solutions to various problems related to construction materials and concrete technology.”

Sanitary Engineering Laboratory

The laboratory includes a range of equipment and chemical substances and specializes in conducting tests on water, sewage, and soil. Its tests vary between physical, chemical, and biological ones and are distributed among undergraduate and graduate students. The laboratory aims to provide the required capabilities to carry out engineering experiments with the highest quality standards, in order to reinforce the concepts of the academic program among students.

Roads and Transportations Laboratory

The Transportation Laboratory in the Civil Engineering Department conducts laboratory tests on road materials, including asphalt mixtures, cement asphalt, aggregates, subbase materials, and subgrade soils. These tests are of two types: traditional tests, which are carried out by undergraduate students (fourth stage), including tests for classification and evaluation of these materials for use, and advanced tests, which are carried out by graduate students (master’s and doctoral) for research purposes using specialized equipment such as the Pneumatic Repeated Load System.
