As part of the guidance and counseling activities organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the academic year 2024-2025, under the supervision of the department head and in collaboration with the Guidance and Educational Rehabilitation Unit, a lecture titled “Forgetting and Memory Utilization During Study” was held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in hall M6. The lecture was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmad Aziz for second-year students.

The aim of the lecture was to highlight the causes of forgetfulness among students, especially during exams, and to offer effective solutions for dealing with this issue. The lecture also addressed key scientific methods to improve memory capacity and enhance academic performance.

At the end of the lecture, several valuable recommendations were made, including:

Students should commit to studying in a quiet environment free from distractions and adopt various reading methods instead of relying on a single approach.

Paying attention to a healthy lifestyle, including balanced nutrition and adequate sleep, to support both physical and mental health.

Fostering a positive mindset in students, with an emphasis on setting success as a primary goal in their academic journey.

This lecture is part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s efforts to support students and provide them with the necessary tools to achieve academic excellence
