The Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad organized a field scientific visit for fourth-year students to the Buruj Residential Complex project on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with insights into the architectural and structural design and execution of the residential towers, as well as the technologies used in their construction.

The visit began with a warm reception by a representative from Loft Design & Construction Company, who introduced the executing company and its assigned tasks. The students were then given a tour of the company’s administrative, technical, and service offices. After that, the students and faculty members moved to the construction site to observe the execution stages firsthand and explore the methods and materials used in constructing the towers. A team of engineers from various specializations at Loft Company accompanied the students and faculty, allowing them to inquire about execution details and the urban planning aspects of the project. The visit also included direct field observations and discussions led by the accompanying professors.

The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with tangible exposure to the scientific and planning principles involved in designing and constructing high-rise residential complexes, as well as the structural challenges associated with such projects.

This activity aligns with the Department of Architecture’s efforts at the University of Baghdad to enhance practical knowledge and broaden students’ perspectives in architecture and design. Additionally, the visit is part of the academic requirements for the Technical Construction and Housing Planning courses.
