The Department of Surveying Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held a reception ceremony for first-year students. The ceremony was attended by a number of new students, faculty members, and staff in the department on November 23, 2023. The ceremony included the attendance of the head and faculty members of the department, who welcomed the new students. Associate professor Dr.Yusuf Hussein Khalef also delivered a motivational speech, urging students to work hard and excel in their studies. He emphasized the importance of the field of surveying engineering, its continuous developments, and the job market’s need for this specialization. A presentation was given about the Department of Surveying Engineering, where new students were introduced to the study content and the years of study prescribed by Associate professor Dr. Zahraa Azaddin, the department’s coordinator. The nature of the study and the skills that students will acquire during their period of study in the department were highlighted.and Dr. Hassanein Abdul Razzaq Saleh A presentation was also given about the Bologna Process by Assistant Professor Dr. Naeem Jabbar Karam, which aims to improve the quality of higher education and enhance academic cooperation and exchange between universities.
In the end, this meeting provided an opportunity for communication and acquaintance between students and faculty members and staff in the department.
