.Dr. Ahmed Faiq Al-Alawi, the respected head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, participated in a conference on gas investment (Basra Gas Company as a model). The conference was organized by the Ministry of Oil – Research, Training, and Oil Development Center in collaboration with Basra Gas Company. The aim of the conference was to highlight the importance of the gas sector in Iraq and its role in achieving economic development through the review of natural gas investment stages, utilizing modern technology in developing this resource, as well as preserving the environment and public safety.
The conference, attended by a number of oil sector officials and investment oil companies, included presentations of insights, studies, and academic research focused on natural gas production, investment opportunities, utilizing technological advancements, environmental impact, and policies and frameworks in gas management and investment
