Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the respected Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, the Iraqi Universities Chess Championship was held within the University of Technology, with the participation of 46 public and private universities and colleges. The tournament lasted for four days (5, 6, 7- 8/11/2023) and in the presence of the Iraqi Chess Federation. Student Ghadeer Aqeel, one of the second-year students in the Department of Environmental Engineering, won first place in the championship. The Department, represented by the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Ayad Abdul Hamza Faisal, and the ladies and gentlemen of the faculty members congratulate the student and wish her continuous progress in the academic and sports fields.
