Prof. Dr. Amal Habeeb Assi<\/strong> in the <strong>First International Engineering Conference<\/strong> held in Maysan Province, southern Iraq, on <strong>Wednesday, November 26, 2025<\/strong>, with the presence of researchers and specialists from various Iraqi and international universities.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Assi\u2019s participation came through a scientific research paper titled:<br \/>\n<strong>\u201cDetermine CCS by Utilizing Dynamic Elasticity and Poisson Ratio for Limestone.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nThe study addressed the estimation of <strong>Confining Compressive Strength (CCS)<\/strong> based on <strong>dynamic elasticity properties<\/strong> derived from well logs, along with petrophysical data related to porosity, rock types, and mineral compositions, using several empirical correlations.<\/p>\n<p>The research focused on leveraging <strong>P-wave and S-wave velocities<\/strong> to predict elasticity parameters and rock strength, especially given the challenges of obtaining direct measurements under in-situ conditions in deep formations.
