{"id":9088,"date":"2025-10-22T10:03:46","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T07:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.coeng.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9088"},"modified":"2025-10-22T10:03:46","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T07:03:46","slug":"college-of-engineering-university-of-baghdad-welcomes-international-students-under-the-study-in-iraq-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.coeng.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9088","title":{"rendered":"College of Engineering \u2013 University of Baghdad Welcomes International Students under the \u201cStudy in Iraq\u201d Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic exchange and promote scientific openness at the regional and international levels, the <strong>College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad<\/strong> welcomed a group of <strong>international students<\/strong> enrolled under the <strong>\u201cStudy in Iraq\u201d initiative<\/strong> launched by the <strong>Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The new students include <strong>Aminu Shaibu Shehu<\/strong> from <strong>Nigeria<\/strong>, who joined the <strong>Department of Civil Engineering<\/strong>; <strong>Raghad Ammar<\/strong> from <strong>Syria<\/strong>, who enrolled in the <strong>Department of Environmental Engineering<\/strong>; and <strong>Hussein Noor Hussein<\/strong> from <strong>Jordan<\/strong>, who joined the <strong>Department of Aeronautical Engineering<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe reception was conducted under the direct supervision of <strong>Prof. Dr. Ziad Tareq Abd Ali<\/strong>, <strong>Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies<\/strong>, with follow-up from the <strong>Security Permits Unit<\/strong> at the college.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Dr. Ziad Tareq Abd Ali affirmed the college\u2019s commitment to supporting Arab and international students by providing a distinguished academic environment that enables them to integrate and benefit from the scientific and research expertise of the University of Baghdad. He also noted that the college continues to strengthen its international presence through active participation in Ministry-led initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Mr. Kazem Dhuair Mozan<\/strong>, Director of the Security Permits Unit, stated that all admission, reception, and registration procedures were carried out smoothly, with careful attention to creating a suitable study environment that reflects a positive image of higher education in Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>\u201cStudy in Iraq\u201d initiative<\/strong> represents an important step toward enhancing cultural and academic cooperation between Iraq and other countries.
