{"id":9076,"date":"2025-10-22T09:49:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T06:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.coeng.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9076"},"modified":"2025-10-22T09:49:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T06:49:00","slug":"university-of-baghdads-college-of-engineering-develops-a-silent-air-compressor-and-wins-the-excellence-award-in-kirkuk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.coeng.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9076","title":{"rendered":"University of Baghdad\u2019s College of Engineering Develops a Silent Air Compressor and Wins the Excellence Award in Kirkuk"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In a new scientific achievement added to the record of the <strong>College of Engineering \u2013 University of Baghdad<\/strong>, <strong>Prof. Dr. Abdullah Dhai\u2019a Assi<\/strong>, a faculty member in the <strong>Department of Mechanical Engineering<\/strong>, supervised an innovative project by senior student <strong>Ammar Nidal Qasim<\/strong>, who won the <strong>Excellence Award<\/strong> at the <strong>Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Conference<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organized by the <strong>Skills Foundation for Education and Culture (NGO)<\/strong> under the patronage of the <strong>Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research<\/strong>, and held at the <strong>Boulevard Hall \u2013 City Center<\/strong>, in <strong>Kirkuk Province<\/strong>, from <strong>October 14\u201315, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project, titled <strong>\u201cModifying an Air Compressor to Operate Silently Using a Hermetic Refrigerator Compressor,\u201d<\/strong> aimed to address the problem of noise pollution caused by conventional air compressors.<br \/>\nThe innovation introduced a practical solution by replacing the electric motor with a <strong>hermetic refrigerator compressor<\/strong>, reducing the noise level from <strong>80.3 dB to 55.8 dB<\/strong> without affecting volumetric efficiency.
