The College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad held the public defense of the Master\u2019s student for his thesis entitled:
\u201cEvaluating the Role of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the Performance of Administrative Building Facades: Iraq as a Case Study\u201d<\/em> on Wednesday, 03\/09\/2025<\/strong>, at Mohammed Makkiyah Hall<\/strong> at 9:00 AM, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Huda Abdul Sahib Al-Alwan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The theoretical part of the research presented a comprehensive overview of Building Information Modeling (BIM)<\/strong>, including its levels, dimensions, and fundamental concepts. The study discussed the Iraqi context through a framework of challenges and opportunities. It then explored the concepts of building facade performance<\/strong> and administrative buildings<\/strong>, extracting a set of criteria related to facade performance in general and the role of BIM in enhancing it.<\/p>\n

In the practical part, the extracted criteria were applied to the new Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) building<\/strong>, and the second part of the practical study involved simulating the Ministry of Construction and Housing building in Baghdad<\/strong>, testing multiple aspects within the environmental performance criteria emphasized in this part of the research.<\/p>\n

The study concluded with several findings and recommendations<\/strong> regarding the adoption of BIM and its importance in improving building facade performance, as well as future research directions and potential applications.<\/p>\n

    Following the scientific discussion by the committee members, reviewing the defense, and evaluating the thesis, the student was awarded a Master\u2019s degree in Architectural Engineering<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
