The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Shahlaa Ismail Ibrahim in the department&#8217;s discussion hall, with the attendance of faculty members, staff, and students. The workshop was titled:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Plagiarism and Paraphrasing&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The workshop aimed to explain the meaning of plagiarism, which is the use of another person&#8217;s words, ideas, thoughts, expressions, or inventions without giving proper credit or acknowledgment, whether done intentionally or unintentionally. Plagiarism also refers to attributing ideas to oneself that are not one&#8217;s own, without any scientific basis or reference to reality, and presenting ideas as original thoughts. On the other hand, paraphrasing occurs when direct quotations are irrelevant to the academic paper.
