Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul Majid, and the supervision of the Head of the Department of Surveying Engineering, Prof. Dr. Meythem Mutashar Sharqi, the Department of Surveying Engineering organized a scientific workshop for postgraduate students titled:<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/strong>Analysis of Scientific Research and Managing References.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the department\u2019s academic activities and in line with the Ministry\u2019s directives to develop the skills of postgraduate students, the workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Alwan Mahdi on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Prof. Fawzi Al-Khalisi Hall, located in the Department of Surveying Engineering.<\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by several postgraduate students from the department and other departments. It aimed to introduce students to the different types of scientific research based on format (journal articles or conference papers) and demonstrate how to access scientific research online through Google Scholar. It also focused on analyzing the first page of a research paper, including its components such as the header, footer, journal name, volume, title, authors, abstract, and keywords.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the discussion covered the key elements of a research paper, including the abstract, introduction, analysis, application, results, conclusions, acknowledgments, and references.<\/p>\n

The participating students expressed their appreciation for the workshop, highlighting its importance in enhancing research quality and emphasizing the need for more such events to improve the standards of scientific research.<\/p>\n
